What are you passionate about?

BarCamp is a great event to socialize and meet other people in our community. From each one of us, we can learn new things. If there is an topic you would like to talk about, please feel free to announce it here.

BarCampKC almost here!

BarCampKC is a little more than two more weeks away. The venue has
been secured with thanks to Shannon and David. We will be having fresh
coffee from the Roasterie that morning; breakfast, on the other hand,
is MIA. More comments regarding breakfast and action items below. To
address online presence, the BarCampKC WordPress page is still online
but it needs to be updated with a new logo and content. The event has
been posted to the KC Tech Cal website and an Eventbrite registration
page has been created.

There are a few items that I could use some help with this week.

* A badge design.
The guys at http://www.vridcards.com/ made our badges for Highlight
Midwest and StartupWeekend. They are freaking nice badges. Check the
files for examples of badge designs.

* Breakfast Sponsor
We are looking for a sponsor for breakfast to feed the user groups.

* Getting the word out

Please to contact me directly if you can help out.
Thanks – Steven

Lets organize ourselves BarCampKC 2009

The first conversations for BarCamp 2009 started around Feb 2009 at the StartupKC meeting.  Now that the year is half over, it is probably time to start planning ourselves an un-conference that is BarCamp.  Thanks to Pete (@peterthomas) for passing the BarCamp information to me (@whereisciao).

To help us out, here are a few objectives from the “Organizing a BarCamp” from barcamp.org:

  1. Find a venue.
  2. Pick a date.
  3. Communicate.
  4. Say what you need.
  5. Download the Barcamp logo here

To start with the planning, please join the BarcampKC Google Group. We should start scoping out a venue and a date for the event soon.
