Phil not only confirmed we have a $50 donation from Panera Bread (thank you, Panera!) but he’s also working on bringing on 3 more participants. Excellent!
Tomorrow afternoon I’ll drive out to Jim Kelly’s new venue (don’t know the name yet) in Blue Springs to check out the space. He told me AT&T DSL is going in soon so with a wireless base station in the mix I’m hoping it becomes an option.

BarCampKC is a user generated conference in Kansas City that's focused on innovative technology, blogging, and business projects local to the area.
"User generated" means the people who attend BarCampKC are the same people organizing and presenting at the conference. In other words we hope that if you come to BarCampKC you'll also present something ("run a session"). You might speak to Centriq Foss, either about sponsorship or getting contacts to local interest groups. They have been great to us and host a number of other interest/user groups in their facilities.

Thanks, Sean. Steve Mitchell brought up Centriq Foss (I believe he instructs on Java-related topics there) and I think in theory it’s a great idea. We are supposed to take a quick CF tour together but just haven’t finalized anything.
To the degree CF has the ability to give up space for a whole Saturday and that the professional setting won’t feel too much like “work” for some participants, I think it could work.
