How to Get the Best Digital Camera
Every month, new models of digital cameras are being introduced. Makers of digital cameras seem obsessed in a Digicam technological race. That is why digital cameras can become obso The good news is that prices are also cheaper as technology continue to advance in producing high end digital cameras. This is one of the main reasons why a digital camera has become trendy consumer item. !–more–> Digital Camera with High Megapixel Today, modern digital cameras can produce image resolutions equal to the quality produced by a 35 mm SLR. A number of the finest digital cameras can have up to 20 megapixel image resolution. This is a long way from the first digital camera with only 1 to 1.5 Megapixels. The mega pixel feature of a digital camera determines its quality. You can capture well-defined images with the use of high-megapixel digital cameras. The pictures are less grainy and fine since the shades and contrasts are more distinct. It is for this reason why professional photographers, photo journalists and photo-artists have opted to use modern digital cameras to take pictures. Powerful Optical Zoom Feature of Digital Cameras Usually, professional photographers will not use a digital camera because it has no optical zoom capabilities. The first models of digital cameras only have 2x to 3x digital zoom feature. The zoom options will only make the picture hazed and warped. You’ll have a lot of pixilated pictures because the zoom function is digitally simulated. High end digital cameras however have 10x to 15x optical zoom selections. Professional photographers prefer optical zoom since the lens is adjusted mechanically by the camera. That’s why you will have an enhanced image resolution even when you zoom-in to take pictures. The outcome of the image is therefore not distorted or grainy. An All-in-One Media Center Digital Camera Advanced digital camera has many features making it a comprehensive image processing unit. For instance, you can alter a picture directly from digital cameras or design special effects for your photos. You can also easily connect your digital camera to a photo printer to make prints of the images. You can also upload images to photo sharing sites or e-mail pictures to your friends. Digital cameras nowadays also have audio and video features. You can take moving images like a movie, then cut and rearrange your video before uploading it to your computer. You also have an option to record audio and video files that you can transfer to a CD or DVD for playback. As a matter of fact, most digital cameras have built-in playback features. Simply connect your digital camera on any television and you will be able to see your pictures and video. Modern digital cameras have many cool and sophisticated features that are very useful. You can get more value for your money if you buy a high quality and technologically advanced digital camera.

The camera is fine, its older technology and only has 4 megapixel which is plenty, if you don't plan on cropping, go for it.

i have a canon A430, it came with a printer (selphy cp510) all for $199 (plus tax or course), so it would be a little over $200. It takes beautiful pictures, lots of features!!! I can upload the pics on my computer or just plug it directly to the printer and print the pics right out. Anyway, the package comes with the camera, a memory card (holds only 15 pics), the printer, 5 pieces of photo paper (4×6) and enough ink to print 5 pics. **Batteries not included!!!** I got this at Radioshack by the way!

Nikon D50. Costs about 1000 dollars. You'll never use that much memory and it comes with rechargeable batteries. I don't remember how long the warranty is. You can get it just at just about any electronic store.

Fast shutter speed is not an issue here. ALL cameras, and I mean ALL have fast enough shutter speeds to stop the motions of a speeding car, let alone young children. Your issue is with ISO and FOCUSING speed.
Get a camera with a high ISO range, preferably those which have greater than ISO 800. Also focusing speed is very poor on cameras in the $200 range. That's because these cameras would be the point-and-shoot (p&s) type rather than advanced SLR type.
Almost all p&s have slow focusing, so you're likely going to get lots of missed shots. Every SLR camera beats the focusing speed and ISO range of a p&s camera hands down! But, you're gonna have to spend at least $450 for an SLR camera. Something I would recommend is the Olympus E410 SLR camera.

First make sure image stablisation is turned on. Try using auto mode this will probably be ok for most situations.
The manual mode on that camera does not give much flexibility. Although it will allow you to set the ISO, try setting the ISO to 400 or even 800. This will means you will trade a little noise in the photo for a shorter exposure time. Best to experiment with ISO settings before you go to the museum so that you know what works best with your camera.
Some other tips, when shooting a object in a glass display case try and get the lens as close as possible to the case, this will cut down on the reflections from the glass. Also wearing a black t-shirt can help cut down reflections.

I spent weeks researching, because I was looking for a camera, to take photos of my newborn Grandchild, and after reading numerous glowing reviews, from consumers, and professionals, it seems Canon PowerShot A series are one of the best, in their class for features. please take a look at this , it takes AA normal/rechargeable batteries though. (try and get atleast 2500mah.)

This is my new baby the Canon PowerShot A570IS, 7.1 mp, 4 x Optical zoom, 2.5in Lcd .i
it has numerous shooting modes,
Kids & Pets ( for those pictures you want to take when baby/child and or pet wont keeps still for long) Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Foliage, Snow, Beach, Fireworks, Aquarium, Underwater, Indoor,Night Snapshot, Stitch Assist
I brought it just after xmas, for £109.00 including p+p in the UK
This can be found for $139.95 here

and the image quality, is superb, This camera is a great point an shoot camera, but it also has loads of additional functions, within the cameras manual mode, that makes it a cut above the rest in it's class.
Some of this camera's many features include, face recognition, red eye fix , image stabiliser, movie mode, it can even be used under water, ( with the aid of separate casing) to many to mention here. but really a top little camera, for the money
